About me

Hi there! I'm Melina Dupont. I am 14 and come from France. I have lived in Greece, France, Singapore, Italy, Canada and now Hilversum. I have two little brothers: one is 12 and the other is 8. I often babysit them, help them with homework and teach them trampoline tricks when I come back from school.

When I was 10, my mom and I organised a birthday party for my brother, who was 4 back then. He loved firefighters, so we decided to prepare an obstacle course for his friends and him. They all had a lot of fun and wanted to come back for his 5th birthday party.

My first "babysitting job" was when I was 11. We were in a friend's week, and there were 5 little boys from 4 to 6 years old. My brother and I organised a "Mini Club", with diverse activities and, at the end of the week, a show, with dances and a musical.

I had an interesting experience at a public school back in Canada, when I was 12. For my volunteer hours, I spent a week in a kindergarten and pre-kindergarten class, helping the teachers and playing with them. It was an educational and revealing experience that influenced my opinion about being a teacher: it is so much harder then it seems but totally worth it!

At 13, I passed a Red Cross Babysitting certificate . It was a two day class were we learned everything about kids, injuries, crisis situations and how to manage children.

In the summer of 2019, we were also in a friend's week. My two friends and I put together a show for 3 boys from 5 to 8 years old. They did 3 dance choreographies and a comedy scene. We also cooked a full meal for 13 people the night of the show.

I have been to two IB schools, where we learn the different values of an educated learner and person. I think these experiences have helped me develop a critic judgement and an open mind.

I love being around kids, assisting them, helping them and teaching them.
